WarSigil URBAN MAT

At last, we’re bringing the immersive hand-crafted environments and 3D textures from our Terrain mats to new Urban designs.  Appropriately, you can select the technology/time period for your setting, and choose between an idyllic lived-in appearance or a dystopia shattered and blasted by wars or magic.  These mats will feature similar standard layouts, but can be custom-built to your own design by quote!  Standard layouts include a  major street with at least one crossing lane, and logical lots on which to place any of your own buildings and other scenery. Just leave spots uncovered to create open courtyards/plazas/parking lots/worksite areas.  As it takes more time and care to simulate ordered construction than random nature, the Urban styles begin at a higher price point than the other Terrain mats.  Add-ons and special features are available for Urban Mats under the Add-on menu for Rough Mats. However, as Urban mats include streets, it’s not necessary to add road/path Add-ons.

Technology/Time Period Options:

Cobbles & Flagstones (towns of historical eras)

Simulating anything from major Roman or Medieval towns up to the Napoleonic and WW2 eras

Concrete & Asphalt (cities of the modern era)

Simulating a modern urban setting from the mid-to-late 20th century, recent conflicts, or a near-future zombie apocalypse

Plastone & Flextanium (futuristic industrial and metropolitan settings)

Simulating a high-tech science-fiction setting, this option is suitable for a futuristic city, industrial complex, military base, or planet-spanning megalopolis

Condition (Damage Options):

Idyllic:

A lived-in town or city with some dust and wear, functional maintained surfaces lacking major damage.

Dystopian:

Cracked and broken surfaces, craters and pock-marks, rust and rubble for a war-torn or post-apocalyptic feel.

Ruined:

Major damage, buried surfaces, indicating total destruction or ancient ruins.

Scale Options:

10-15mm

25-28mm

The width of streets, as well as the size of blocks, plazas, courtyards, and certain details, will change to suit the intended scale.  However, some textural elements are standardized and may appear incongruous for very small scales.

Add-ons:

Standard Rough Mat add-ons are available for Urban mats, if you need water features or flocked grassy areas etc. Note: it is NOT necessary to add roads for city streets as they are included in the layout for the base price.

Mats weigh approximately 4 lbs (1.75 kg) and ship rolled in a square-tube, protected inside a waterproof poly sleeve.

Please note that we have little or no on-hand inventory for these made-to-order items. As mats are hand-made to your customization and not mass-produced stock items, please allow a 90-day minimum processing time before we reach your place in the queue and your order ships.
