Postage Increases and Suspensions

As of the first week in April, the US Postal Service has added surcharges for ‘oversize’ packages. If the shipping rate seems high when placing a new order, that would likely be the primary reason, as a 48” tube now costs $15 more in postage. All orders in queue will ship for what you already paid and we will cover the difference. New orders should be seeing the current rate at checkout.

I assure you, shipping does not generate any profit for me, and I’m not trying to gouge you here. I ship at cost and usually cover the insurance beyond what is included for Priority Mail. This change in postal rates has us exploring other options, but we are sticking with the mail for now despite the additional expense.

If you are ordering more than one mat, please email for a quote and invoice so that we can be sure the postage estimate is as accurate as possible. The web store does not always understand how many mats can ship in one package, and the higher rate now makes it harder to notice if it’s calculating two packages when it could be shipped in one.

The US Postal Service also has suspended delivery, periodically or on an ongoing basis, to some locations due to covid, turbulent unsafe conditions, or their own logistical reasons. The list and details can be found here:

As we currently rely heavily on the mail system to deliver your mats, orders have been blocked temporarily from those locations, as I don’t wish to accept a new order which I may not be able to deliver. In most cases, international delivery by another carrier is prohibitively expensive compared to the mail, requires customs brokerage, or is otherwise problematic and simply not an option. I will attempt to monitor these and resume orders from these locations if and when postal service suspensions are lifted.

Thanks for your understanding during these times of continual change, which often makes things difficult and unpredictable.
